Fake Moon Landing

Back in 1967 NASA realized that it wasn't going to meet JFK's deadline. So they asked Stanley Kubrik to film a fake moon landing. He agreed on the condition that filming take place on location. So NASA had to transport the astronauts, lander, film crew, caterer ... the whole production ... to the lunar surface. The result was film of a fake moon landing that fooled millions into thinking a real moon landing had happened. Interesting side note: As part of the deal, NASA agreed to leave the camera equipment on the moon for Kubrik to use in filming 2001.

I completed the PACE High 5 Challenge this past weekend. 5,000m of elevation gain over 4 days. Total running time was 11 hours and 59 minutes. Happy with that. Results.

Strava: stage 1; stage 2; stage 3; stage 4; stage 5. The last 2 stages were just slivers I needed to add because Strava's measure of ascent didn't agree with my Garmin.

A fun challenging time at the Dirty Duo 50K today. Really struggled with the second loop but felt good on the last descent and the last few miles of flat. Results. The Garmin track was off by a couple of miles; seemed to have stopped tracking in parts.

I wish I knew what I was looking for. That would make the search much easier.

Way back in the dark days I was as likely to wake up in a ditch as in my bed. Bottles of Crown Royal and thoughts of drawing on the tailpipe of my faithful little red Mazda. No easy way out. Then, for reasons I still cannot figure, the Universe seemed fit to send The Angel From The West into my life. She picked me up, dusted me off, took me into her pack. "This way," she said. I followed. I have never looked back. She saved my life and set us on a wonderful journey full of riches and wonders that I could not have imagined possible way back in the dark days.
