"In 2073 Dr. Sarah Wong isolated a symbiotic cross-species virus produced by dogs (Canisvirus  [Wong [V.3-2X09]]). Studies showed that close, prolonged exposure to dogs fostered transmission of the virus to humans. Infected humans had an average increase in life expectancy of  6.7 years. All attempts to produce an equivalent inoculation failed for reasons unknown."
