Imagine you're floating in deep space. There is nothing within view except a glowing ball that is approaching. It glides past you. But with no point of reference, it is impossible for you to know whether the apparent motion of the ball is because the ball is moving or you are moving or both. The motion is a manifestation of you and the ball, but is something separate and distinct.

Your sense of self is like that motion. It is the manifestation of countless interactions ("motions") between you and the world around you, as perceived through your senses and thoughts and memory, over space and time.

There is no self. There is only sense of self. And without motion there is not even that.
